Audio Clips
The following list of audio samples from our audio books can be played if your browser supports playback of .au sound files.Since sound files are very, very large, and thus take long download times, these sound files have been "detuned" to reduce their file size and download time. The originals from the audiobooks are 44 khz, 16 bit. These sound clips have been reduced to either 11 khz or 8 khz, 8 bit. Thus the sound quality is degraded (typically more sybilant), but should be adequate to give you a feel for the character involved. (Note: The references to the dialog source are to the page number in the original edition of the book. Later reprints may not have exactly duplicated the page layout of the original.)
